As a casual content editor, I always want to say “independence”, but honestly, the more options there are to configure, the harder it is, and the more afraid I am of making a mistake. These days I’m all for super-concretely defined templates. The ideal situation for me is well-defined templates that we have an easy way to make changes to via a close relationship with the dev team.
Looking forward to asking the Icelandair guys about it - they think about this day in and day out… at ContentCon 22 they talked about some of their solution for balancing “freedom vs independence”, but on the podcast we will ask them about what they’ve learned through figuring out this process, and what pitfalls to avoid if you’re trying to think through it yourself.
